"Hopeā is the thing with feathers -That perches in the soul -And sings the tune without the words -And never stops - at all... Emily Dickinson
All of life is a stage.
I was home in Connecticut over the Passover holiday. We wanted a "feel good" movie to watch... so I suggested, "All Together Now." Auli'i Cravalhomber plays Amber- the protagonist. She exudes an abundance of positivity, courage, hope, and brings us through Amber's journey of learning how to receive and not just give.
Watching it for the second time, was still just as uplifting. It brings up themes of love, the beauty of humanity, a shared community, and a sense of belonging. It makes you feel warmth in your heart, energy in your fingertips, and makes you want to watch it again and again. It reminded me to go back to the old ways of life... Good people. Good times. Good values.
I, myself, always love to give, and I find it difficult to receive. But I'm learning and I'm growing, and I'm opening up space for the reception of new things. New people. New habits. New ways to do things. New experiences.
What comes more naturally to you, giving or receiving?
In the movie, there's a very poignant poem that her mother shared with her, Hope is a Thing with Feathers by Emily Dickinson. There's always hope. Never give up on your dreams, yourself, or what life really has in store for you.
All of life is a stage. No space, moment, or corner is too small to make a difference.
