I Am Statements

There are two words that carry more weight than we give them credit for… I am.

Owning what we believe about ourselves, makes us who we are. Our values, our drive, our weaknesses, our ambition.

Two little words that can direct your life in many ways.

I have a yellow circle sticker by my desk with a picture of me when I was about 5 years old in a bubble bath, a love pin, and a star sticker. On this yellow circle it says:

I am strong.

I am resourceful.

I am smart.

I am beautiful.

I am moving forward.

It’s been on my board since fall of 2018. Every day I look at this yellow sticker. Some days I just pass it, but then there are others, like today, where I linger on it and state each sentence over and over again.

Sometimes it’s the reassurance of hearing it from my own voice, from my own soul that gives me the confidence to believe it. To acknowledge the truth in each statement. Who I believe I am.

What we believe and associate with these two little words shapes who we are, how we act, and how we function in the world.

colorful horizons

These I am statements become the belief of who you are and what you really want. It’s simple and hard. It’s easy and complex, but it is the truth. It’s your truth. It’s my truth.

Life is simple and hard, easy and complex, and the days that are trying- the yellow I am sticker gives me proof that there’s something in front of me to believe in. A mirror reflection of me honoring me.

I am strong.

I am resourceful.

I am smart.

I am beautiful.

I am moving forward.

It’s finding the I am’s in who we are that lead to owning your inner core strength.

It’s a mindset shift. It’s an abundant consciousness in your belief system. Believing these small truths about yourself and your life, creates the space for them to become a reality. Starting the new year with strength, hope, and perseverance.

A little yellow sticker with 5 statements about who you are can have a significant effect.

I am.

What are your 5?
