“If you can only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope.” ~Nikki Banas

The weather was unusually warm for March. The sun had broken through the clouds, and it was a spring-like Sunday afternoon!

I was invited to a concert downtown in the village, and it was so exciting to go to a live event!

Entering the room, I immediately got a sense of warmth, homeyness, and safety. There was art work adorning each wall and a baby grand piano at the end of the room. Each table was topped with deep indigo tablecloths and green and white candles- making it feel like a chic nightclub.

I sat next to someone I didn't know- turns out he's a singer/songwriter! We got into a conversation about how music helped us both through the pandemic- giving us hope.

I shared that music brought me hope as it literally lifted my energy and vibration when I was feeling down; how a great upbeat song to dance to could make me feel alive again and not so alone.

As music fills the air, it fills my soul.

He said thank you so much for sharing that because as I was writing during the pandemic I felt the importance of creating music even more during that time.

The concert began, and Yaniv Taubenhouse started playing. You instantly felt a sense of peace and release. Release of anxiety from the day, heaviness in my spirit, and literal tension from my muscles. The music was lovely, his compositions were ethereal and grounding at the same time. He played several songs, but my favorite was Hope.

He had written it in honor of his wife, and you could feel the passion and the love as he played.

Closing my eyes- my heart started to focus on all of the people suffering in Ukraine. I immediately began praying for the state of the country and wishing peace and hope to all there- amidst the devastation.

What is hope?

hope\ ˈhōp \ : to desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment

Hopeful people believe they can influence their goals with a positive impact.

Hope is an important aspect of life because it pushes us into positive action.

Research shows that when people have hope they're more likely to make their goals a reality. A clear belief or hope about what's possible leads individuals to take the action needed to bring their goals to fruition.

To me hope is the mindset and belief that something greater is coming.

“If you can only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead. Let it be hope that you can get through even the toughest of times. Let it be hope that you are stronger than any challenge that comes your way. Let it be hope that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now, and that you are on the path to where you are meant to be… Because during these times, hope will be the very thing that carries you through.” Nikki Banas
