Soul Clean 🧹🧽💫🧘🏻‍♀️

I was on my elevator coming up to my apartment, and as I got out I saw my neighbor Frank, a extraordinary magician who lives down the hall. His first comment to me was, “Betsy what do you do to make your apartment smell so good?? Everytime I pass by, it always smells of citrus and amazing fruit or lovely meals that I want to join in on. What do you do????”

I shared with him that I really clean. I soul clean. Yesterday as a matter of fact, I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the bathroom for 3 hours. I had been having a rough day, and I could feel my mental state spiraling. I wanted to do something productive and good for myself and my space, so I decided to scrub. To literally scrub away at the tiles, as I scrubbed away at the negativity within. When our external spaces are clean and fresh- the floors shiny, and the tiles sparkle- we elevate to a higher level.

I read years ago that when Julia Roberts is upset, she stays up late and cleans her bathroom.

When we clean using fresh scents, we are adding another positive layer to our senses. Scents are directly related to our emotions. Scents stimulate your brain to think clearer and brighter, and fresh scents make you happy! When cleaning I use a lot of essential oils: grapefruit, lavender, orange, and basil to make everything smell fresh and clean.

There’s something about cleaning from the soul that starts to heal internal negativity, upset, and worry.

When you’re in the mood to clean, cleaning is really good, no matter what time of day it is.

This is the perfect time of year to get things spick spanking clean.

Frank chimed in, “Betsy, I think I’m going to have to use some of my magic powers and a little abracadabra so that I can bring this to my house upstate.”

“Wouldn’t that be great if we could blink an eye or do a little abracadabra to make that happen?”

He said, “Well, I do have some of those powers.”

There’s something about scents and smells that can be absolutely beautiful… or not.

Sometimes you’re attracted to someone because of the way they smell. Smells bring back memories, and emotions of times that mark history in our lives.

Everytime I smell a fresh blueberry pie it brings me back to my Nana’s kitchen with a home full of love and an oven full of pies.

Scents are a way of life. They are a way to heal you, to move you, to change your mood and lift your spirits.

Take time to smell the roses. Take time to make your home smell great.

People notice. You’ll notice. There’s a difference when there’s a beautiful scent in the air.
