One of my most favorite things in lifeโฆ is food.
To taste something in its true essence.
Food nourishes us. Gives us energy. Gives us strength. And most of all, it gives us love.
We eat everyday, why pass on the opportunity to love?
Everything tastes good when you put love into it. And you can tell when you donโt.
The roll of factory made store bought cookies doesn't stand a chance against warm homemade oatmeal raisin cookies fresh out of the oven.
When I go to Connecticut and I cook for my parents, my father says even my salads are made with love. Each ingredient is thought through. I think about the tastes and flavors I want for the day, maybe itโs some fresh arugula, honeycrisp apples, papaya, pineapple, and roasted hazelnuts with a splash of homemade dressing to tie it all together.
๐ฅฌ Arugula - green, fresh taste for abundance and health.
๐ Honeycrisp apples - hard bite of refreshing energy
๐ฅญ Papaya- a touch of sweet orange, juicy, creativity.
๐ Pineapple- sweet acidic yellow to add strength and energy from your core
๐ฐ Roasted hazelnuts- a seasonal crunch, toasty warm flavor and spice.
๐ซ Homemade dressing made of olive oil, dijon, balsamic, lemon, salt and pepper.
Itโs a mixture of sweet, savory, crunchy, and delectable. A flavor of love. You can taste the love and the intention behind it all. The warmth.
Food brings us together, it makes us feel good, brings us joy and comfort.
Thereโs something very sensual about food when you take the time and care to eat it slowly, savoring every bite. To enjoy it with love and with soul- an experience everyday.
Itโs a direct line to the senses and nourishment to the palette.
Whatโs your love dish today?
