Peace, Family, Forgiveness 🕊☮️✌🏼🏳️‍

Love fills the soul when we open our hearts. That’s really all that matters, it’s pure and magical, simple yet complex. The essence of existence.

Peace, family, forgiveness.

What is peace?

“Peace begins with a smile.” — Mother Teresa

Peace feels like a good… long… deep breath. Letting the air flow in and out uninterrupted and with love.

Just like the colors of the sky and the sea. It’s clear, it’s bright, it’s blue.

What does it mean to be a family?

“Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.”

When you need something, it is hopefully granted with grace, love, respect and your best interests at heart.

As they say, blood is thicker than water. We should always be able to count on family when we need them.

My mom and dad are living, beautiful, amazing examples of parents that give unconditionally, and have been there for me through everything, with everything, on every level. Emotional, physical, spiritual and financial always making me feel that I am graced with love and the loyalty of family.

The Jewish New Year is about starting new beginnings. Rosh Hashanah brings in the blessings of the new year: sweetness, honey, and celebration. As we get further into the holiday, Yom Kippur is the day of atonement asking for forgiveness and repenting of sins. It is a day of solace and reflection.

What is forgiveness?

“There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love.” - Brynt H McGill

Forgiveness is the act of releasing your resentment toward someone else. Forgiving someone benefits you far beyond the other person. You release the resentment and allow yourself to move on without being weighed down by the burden.

Peace, Family, Forgiveness - Betsy Karp - peace

Today is the International Day of Peace, which just amplifies what this holiday is all about.

How can we find peace in the macro view of the world, if we can’t find peace in the micro view of our families.

Life is short.

Find the forgiveness.

Find the understanding to resolve issues, to talk through problems, and to listen to one another.

If the issues can’t be resolved, so be it, but allow the peace to be present.

L’Shana Tova 5783…

To a Healthy, Happy, Peaceful New Year. Love, Betsy 💗
