“You light up the room with your Smile, and illuminate the world with your Heart.”

Heart and Soul Matters

Daisy Undercuffler Window Table

I was on my way to the Whitby Hotel and I stopped at the intersection of 66th and Broadway where there’s a lovely little square to sit in the shade, right across from the Lincoln Center. As I was about to take a seat, a lovely older gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Ma’am, look up. Please don’t sit there." There was probably close to 50 pigeons and I couldn’t help but laugh! I was very grateful for this brief encounter. As I continued walking, I was in a good space, enjoying the weather, looking forward to connecting with a former colleague, as this was the first time since covid that we have been able to connect.

I was greeted at our table by our server, Annie. Annie was the most charming, pink haired, vibrant, young woman, who’s smile beamed from here to California. She said, “I’m going to be your server today, please let me know how I can make this experience the best for you today.”

She appeared as a pink bubble of love. Her presence filled the room with warmth, spirit, and love embodying the energy of pink from her hair to her ring. She was able to harness what we all should be all the time… living and loving life.

Seeing her own her presence and exude her energy into all of her efforts reminded me of royalty. She was present and proud, and her greeting embodied how the energy was flowing~ happy, light, easy, lovely. I shared with her that her pink hair really did represent the unconditional love I could feel her exuding.

It was high tea, 3 o’clock, and it was lovely to see my old colleague. We had lots to share and we were both so taken with the environment, the luxury, the aroma of the peony tea, the lemon verbena, and the tiers of treats complete with scones that melted in your mouth.

It was relaxing. I felt like I had been transported to another world.

As we were catching up, I looked up and noticed there were birds on the chandelier above our heads. Just like the birds that had been pointed out on my way here! All of these signs made me feel like I was in flow and the spirit of life was within me. I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

You can go to the bank and the teller can lift your spirits and make or break your day ~ your energy matters no matter how long the interaction is. A smile can not only change your day, but spread positive energy to all of those around you. Look up. Just as the man on the street had reminded me to do, I want to encourage all of you to do the same… don’t forget to look up. Look up from the pain, look up from your phones, and look up to really be able to see what’s around you.

Find the synchronicity.

See the affirmations.

Embrace the energy of each moment.

Find your Annie’s smile.
